For our upcoming January 14 program we are very pleased to have Lee Richmond as our featured speaker, and his presentation will be about infill planes.
Lee has been the expert tool appraiser for Antiques Road show and has been collecting and dealing in antique tools for nearly 40 years. For the last 27 years, he has operated TheBestThings.com, an Internet based business focused on offering a carefully curated selection of tools and other products.
Following in the footsteps of his mentor, Don Wing of the Mechanick’s Workbench, Lee has always focused on quality, not quantity, offering the best examples of tools that he can find. Infill planes have always been a particular specialty.
His presentation will offer a description of the various forms of these planes, their history, and what to look for in buying them, including a forthright discussion of fakes and frauds in the tool world. We encourage attendees to bring infill planes from their collection for display.
