PATINA September 14, 2025 Meeting featuring Eric Benson

The September 2025 in-person CLUB meeting in McLean VA, will be SUNDAY September 14.  Start time is 9:00am.

The guest Speaker will be Eric Benson, an authority and avid collector of Early American Squares and Bevels.  

Discover the manufacturing history of these important tools along with profiles of early or key makers.  Learn how to identify makers, determine age, and spot regional differences using key features.

Eric Benson lives in Southern Maryland, concentrating and specializing in American manufactured and patented try squares and sliding bevels.  A longtime hobbyist woodworker,  his tool collecting and research started four years ago after building a tool chest and needing more tools to fill it.  

Eric’s day job is map making for his local county government, and his previous jobs have included working for George Washington’s Mount Vernon as viewshed manager.

Location: American Legion Post 270, 1355 Balls Hill Rd, McLean VA.
The tailgating begins around 9AM and the indoor meeting will commence at 11:00 with a mini-auction. If you would like to submit lots, please bring some good stuff that you no longer need.  As always, there is no  buyers or sellers fee.

As always, we will use the upper lot only for tailgating. Please park in the lower lot if you are not planning to set up a table. Start time: 9:00am for tailgating.
